

FARMING SIMULATOR Agrivoltaism comes to Farming Simulator ®: GLHD's educational innovation
CONTEXT
A major player in the agricultural energy transition, GLHD (Green Lighthouse Développement) helps farmers rethink their work while moving towards carbon neutrality.
Since 2018, the company has been developing a unique approach to agrivoltaics, focusing on collective projects that promote biodiversity and sustainable agronomic value.
PROBLEM
GLHD faces the challenge of presenting the principle of agrivoltaic projects to farmers because the various components cannot be moved for demonstrations.
Indeed, these projects raise many questions among farmers:
• Will I still be able to drive my tractor and use my tools between the panels?
• Will the height of the structures allow me to maneuver my harvester?
• How will I manage U-turns at the end of the field?
The real question for GLHD is therefore: how can we help farmers plan how to use their land after the panels have been installed?


SOLUTION
YZAR created an immersive environment for GLHD in Farming Simulator 2022, a realistic and recognized benchmark in the agricultural world.
YZAR developed a playable map on a real scale that incorporates all the elements of an agrivoltaic project:
• Photovoltaic structures (fixed and trackers) at their exact dimensions
• Electrical buildings and fire tanks
• Spacing calculated for the passage of machinery
Accessible on PCs equipped with FS22, this application now accompanies GLHD teams at trade shows and in customer presentations throughout France.
And to go even further, YZAR has developed a free public mod, making GLHD the first renewable energy player to integrate agrivoltaics into FS22.

Using this hyper-realistic simulation allows farmers to:
• Test the compatibility of their own equipment with agrivoltaic installations
• Perform all farming operations (plowing, sowing, spraying, harvesting) under realistic conditions
• Check clearance heights and turning radii with different machines
